Fluker Award Luncheon. We honer Sandy Praeger, recipient of the LWV L-DC 2015 Helen Fluker Open and Accessible Government Award. Doors open at 11:30. Lunch and presentation of the award begins at noon. The luncheon is open to the public at a cost of $15 person. The menu includes Mediterranean chicken with fresh greens, scalloped cauliflower, cheesy risotto, and champagne cake with strawberry coulis. Safe Routes for All Town Hall. Sponsored by the Lawrence Pedestrian Coalition, in collaboration with the Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department and other Lawrence organizations. The event with focus on how to improve bike and pedestrian infrastructure in Lawrence for safety, health, equity and the economy. This event will include a presentation by, Robert Ping, a national expert from Walkable and Livable Communities Institute, and a panel of regional experts that are working to improve bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure in their communities.
