LWV Forum "Restorative Practices: What's Next After the Vote?". The moderator is Dr. Clarence Lang, professor at University of Kansas, the presenters are; Patrick Schmitz, Bert Nash CEO; Mike Brouwer, Douglas County Re-Entry Coordinator; Jose Cornejo, Mental Health Facilitator for the Lawrence Public Schools; Chief District Court Judge Peggy Kittel; and Lawrence Attorney Julia Butler.

The purpose of the forum is not a pro/con session regarding the County's jail sales tax ballot but a presentation of facts, current status, and capacity to address inmate and mental health needs and where we go from here.

State LWV Council. Great Bend is the site for the State League Council meeting this year. League members from around the state will gather Saturday, April 28 from 9 to 4:15 at the Great Bend Church of Christ. Featured speaker will be Tracy Streeter, director of the Kansas Water Office.

The agenda will include adoption of the LWVK's new position on water; update on plans for the League's 100 year celebration; election of new state board of directors and officers; legislation and election year updates; and information on League merchandise.
